heirloom resetting

using a client’s heirloom stone

Clients who wish to use a pre-owned or heirloom stone must complete the Stone Intake Form and either submit clear, detailed photos of their stone or schedule an in-person consultation with Kiersten. Please include as much information as possible—such as stone type, carat weight, certifications (GIA, etc.), and the current mounting.

All pre-owned stones are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Approval and pricing are determined after a professional evaluation. Additional setting fees may apply depending on the characteristics, condition, or complexity of the stone.

stone removal and resetting

Resetting or removing an existing gemstone carries inherent risks, including the possibility of damage during unsetting, cleaning, or resetting. Kiersten Hüelsbeck Fine Jewelry will carefully assess each stone and communicate any foreseeable concerns prior to beginning work.

By proceeding with a project involving a client-supplied gemstone, the client acknowledges and accepts these risks and agrees to hold Kiersten Hüelsbeck Fine Jewelry LLC harmless from any loss or damage resulting from pre-existing flaws, inclusions, fractures, chips, or other weaknesses that may cause damage during handling or resetting.

shipping heirloom stones

If a client chooses to ship their own stone to Kiersten Hüelsbeck Fine Jewelry, the client is solely responsible for selecting and arranging their preferred shipping carrier, negotiating all shipping rates and terms directly, and purchasing appropriate shipping insurance coverage.

Kiersten Hüelsbeck Fine Jewelry does not arrange or insure shipments on the client’s behalf. The client assumes full responsibility and liability for their shipment and agrees to hold Kiersten Hüelsbeck Fine Jewelry LLC and its representatives harmless from any loss, damage, or claims that may arise during transit. Any claims for lost or damaged shipments must be filed directly with the chosen carrier.

Once the stone has safely arrived at Kiersten Hüelsbeck Fine Jewelry, all subsequent shipments between the studio and the client will be insured and handled by our trusted shipping partners to ensure secure and professional transport for the remainder of the process.
