Design Your Bespoke Jewelry
Inquiry & Deposit
Begin by filling out our bespoke inquiry form to connect with Kiersten. Due to the highly personalized and time-intensive nature of bespoke work, we kindly ask only for serious inquiries. Kiersten will arrange a detailed consultation to discuss your vision, inspiration, desired materials and gemstones, timeline, and budget.
To move forward into the bespoke queue, a non-refundable deposit of $300 is required. This deposit covers moodboarding, sketching, design work, and CAD development, and confirms your place in the bespoke queue as we begin working together exclusively.
Design & Stone Sourcing
Every bespoke journey looks a little different, and where we start depends on you. If you have an idea for the design first, we'll begin with moodboarding to explore directions, materials, and styles before sourcing a stone to complement that vision. If you already have a stone in mind, or want to choose one before anything else takes shape, we can source your center stone first and build the design around it.
Design development is where your vision takes shape through moodboarding and sketches, exploring different directions before moving into CAD. Once a direction is approved, this moves into CAD, at which point Kiersten is able to offer final pricing on the band. For clients wishing to reset a stone, please reference our heirloom resetting information for important details and requirements.
Stone sourcing is one of the most important parts of the process, as the center stone sets the tone for the entire piece. Kiersten will carefully source and share a curated selection of stones that align with your design direction, style, and budget, walking you through the details that make each option unique. At the moment, stone viewings are offered remotely, with detailed photos and videos of each option so you can compare and choose confidently from wherever you are.
Once a stone is selected, it is paid in full to secure it, or a payment plan can be arranged.
Final CAD & Quote
Once your stone and design are finalized, Kiersten will complete the final CAD model. At this stage, you also have the option to add a 3D printed model of your piece, offering a clear sense of proportion, scale, and fit before production begins. Please note that including a 3D print can extend the overall timeline slightly due to additional production time.
A formal quote is provided once the final CAD is complete, based on metal weight and current market pricing. Most bespoke pieces start at a minimum of $5000.
Step Four
Using the final selected gemstone’s proportions and dimensions, Kiersten will bring the design details to life through a series of sketch options, refining elements of the setting, balance, and overall aesthetic.
Once a final design is approved, it will be translated into a detailed computer-aided design (CAD) model to prepare the piece for production.
Production
Before your piece goes into production, half of the total cost is due. The piece is then handcrafted by hand by our expert jewelers in New York City, with meticulous attention to every detail, from casting the metal to setting each gemstone to the final polish. The remaining balance is due upon completion.
